HAMA, May 10 (MNA) – Syrian Army and Armed Forces units foiled a number of attacks by ISIL and destroyed a number of their vehicles and a tunnel in the eastern countryside of Hama province and in Deir Ezzor city and its surroundings.

Army units destroyed two vehicles belonging to ISIL in the area of al-Azib valley, foiling an attack against military posts in the eastern countryside of Hama central province.

SANA’s reporter in Hama said that an army unit, in cooperation with supporting forces, engaged in violent clashes with ISIL-affiliated terrorist groups that attacked military posts in the area between Salamyieh and Ethraya in the eastern countryside, and that the attack was foiled after killing scores of the ISIL terrorists and destroying their machinegun-equipped vehicles.

An army unit also destroyed two ISIL vehicles, one of them equipped with a heavy machinegun, in clashes that took place in the area of al-Azib valley to the east of Salamyieh City.

Meanwhile,army units carried out special operations against positions and gatherings of ISIL terrorists in Deir Ezzor city and its surroundings.

SANA’s reporter in Deir Ezzor said that an army unit destroyed a 32-meter-long tunnel in the vicinity of the offices area in al-Sina’a neighborhood, thereby cutting off the road before car bombs sent by ISIL could reach military posts.

The reporter added that the army personnel defending Deir Ezzor Airport foiled an attack by ISIL terrorists against military posts positioned at the eastern axis of the airport, killing a number of terrorists and injuring others, in addition to destroying their arms and military equipment.

Another army unit eliminated a terrorist group in a special operation carried out in the area of al-Malha in the surroundings of the Regiment 137 on the southwestern outskirts of Deir Ezzor city.
