TEHRAN, Apr. 03 (MNA) – Former IRGC general and current secretary of the Expediency Council reacted to provocative remarks by head of US Central Command, saying Iran’s activities in Persian Gulf and region are to maintain peace and security.

Mohsen Rezaei reacted to the remarks made by Gen. Joseph L. Votel, commander of US Central Command, in his Instagram post on Monday, saying “Mr. Votel has raised repetitive accusations against Iran to call for a military measure to stop our country’s activities.”

The Iranian former IRGC general was referring to the accusations Votel had made against Iran by calling it the greatest danger to peace in the region and threatened the Islamic Republic with “a sizable military force” to stem its activities in the Persian Gulf and the region.

“You’d better stem the illegitimate interventions of your allies in the region instead, and prevent them from slaughtering innocent people,” Rezaei said.

He went on to add, “beware of deception and do not forget Bush’s warmongering legacy. You should note that Iran is not anything like Iraq or Afghanistan and will make you regret any provocative move that you would make against it.”
