TEHRAN, Mar. 08 (MNA) – A US navy ship changed course in the Hormuz Strait on Saturday toward IRGC vessels, a Guards commander was quoted as saying on Tuesday while issuing a warning.

"The unprofessional actions of the Americans can have irreversible consequences," Navy Gen. Mehdi Hashemi said. He was responding to a US official’s remark about their navy ship conduct earlier; “the ship’s unprofessional and unconventional conduct in deviating from its main path toward IRGC speed boats in the Strait of Hormuz would have far-reaching consequences; their presence in the Persian Gulf threats the security of world energy path, and their approaching up to distance of 550 meters would fuel the tension in the region,” general commented.

Hashemi said that the evidence had indicated in the past that the US and the UK had been welcoming trouble and tense situation in the region; their act was quite provocative and violated the international marine laws which would only serve deterioration of the security situation in the strategic region as the Strait of Hormuz.
