TEHRAN, Oct. 18 (MNA) – Tehran Prosecutor General has told a press conference other convicts of the financial corruption in the past government also received prisons.

Abbas Jafari Dowlatabadi told a meeting of Tehran General Court judges and stewards, and prison supervisory bodies on Tuesday that apart from Siamak and Baqir Namazi, and Nazar Zaka, three others including Farhad Abd-Salih, Alireza Omidvar, and Kamran Ghaderi were each sentenced to 10 years in jail on charges of espionage and cooperation with an enemy state (the US).

“In a different lawsuit,” said the prosecutor-general, “Brothers Rouzchang were indicted and convicted to 20 years of prison; they had been the major player behind the financial corruption and crisis in foreign currency in the past government; they also had collected huge sums of money through cronyism and rentier relations with government officials; the Supreme Court of the country approved their sentence after they appealed the initial verdict,” he told the meeting.
