TEHRAN, Sep. 11 (MNA) – A TPO official said the Russian market remains as the most important target for Iran’s non-oil exports.

Director General of the Cargo Exports Department at the Trade Promotion Organization Mahmoud Bazari said “Russia is a top-priority destination for Iran’s non-oil exports, especially in areas of agricultural and products.”

“Several measures have been taken in order to boost influence of enterprises and agricultural products of Iran in the Russian market including deployment and adoption of trade delegations, setting up regular sea and air lines as well as quarantine, health, customs, banking and trade agreements with the aim of facilitating trade between the two countries in collaboration with concerned executive agencies like the Iranian embassy in Moscow, Iran’s chamber of commerce as well as the private sector,” he continued.

Despite all the taken measures, the amount of Iran’s exports to Russia is still far from satisfactory, noted the official adding “the most important requirements for expansion of Iranian market in Russia include creation of infrastructure to provide grounds for direct presence of capable enterprises as well as issuance of necessary products on the basis of customer tastes and standards.”

Trade Promotion Organization (TPO) pursues the policy of guiding and supporting export enterprises for their direct and continuous presence in target markets through holding specialized international exhibitions or by participating in similar events.
