TEHRAN, Aug. 24 (MNA) – Iranian feature movie ‘Oblivion Season’ was selected as the inaugural film of 2016 Salento International Film Festival in Italy.

Abbas Rafei’s 93-min feature narrative film Oblivion Season will participate in the competition section of Italian event due on September 2-10.

Oblivion Season will go on screen on September 2, as the opening film of the festival.

The movie narrates the story of a struggling but strong-spirited woman who, against all prejudices, tries to assert herself against working women and also against the hostility and contempt of the family of her husband.

The cast includes Sareh Bayat, Amin Zendegani, Shahin Taslimi, Jila Alershad, Fariba Ahang and Mehdi Mohtashemi.

The movie has so far won many awards and titles at international events including the Best Film Award at Brasov International Film Festival (BRIFF), Best Feature Narrative Award at Buffalo International Film Festival (BIFF) and Best Film Award at the Third Annual Rahway International Film Festival in northeastern New Jersey, the US, in early September.

The Salento International Film Festival Is a celebration of films and filmmakers, promotes international independent films, in recognition of the fact that movies are the most powerful form of cultural communication and link between cultures' and peoples.
