Speaking at a meeting with representative of International Labor Organization (ILO) Paul Kamin, Iranian Deputy Minister of Cooperatives, Labor, and Social Welfare Mohamad Amin Sazgarnejad said “majority of Iranian interns are university graduates and defining internship courses would assist them in finding jobs.”
The official, while emphasizing the need for creating an integrated educational system in Iran, stated “existence of an interconnected, integrated and flexible educational system in countries like France, Australia, Germany and New Zealand has exerted a substantial impact on the effectiveness of training.”
Sazgarnejad, who heads the Organization for Technical and Vocational Training, said customizable skills training need to emerge in training centers of the organization as a major priority.
He also called for resumption of collaborations with the International Training Centre in Italy’s Turin as the training arm of the International Labor Organization (ILO).
“Iran and ILO enjoyed good relations in the past while the ties require further expansion in the present time,” underlined Sazgarnejad.
ILO representative Paul Kami, for his part, said know-how in designing and development of competences hold considerable importance in the field of vocational training; “majority of problems seen in technical, vocational and university training are rooted in the fact that the real nature of them remain hidden.”
“A portion of vocational training qualifications remain valid only for a certain period of time though the issue can be eased by giving credit to documents,” Kampic continued.
The vising ILO representative encouraged the Iranian side to hold negotiations with the Turin center in order to develop partnership; “since Instructor Training Center (ITC) follows different procedures in Geneva, South Africa and Pakistan, we intend to facilitate practical implementation of education at all levels and similar cooperation will hopefully be launched with Iran as well.”
The official went on to note that serious issues like education can be seriously pursued and examined at a macro level through bilateral cooperation between International Labor Organization (ILO) and Technical and Vocational Training Organization (TVTO).
