Russian experts have organized a two-week training course for Iranian scientists at the Kalinin nuclear power plant, located in the northwestern city of Tver, about 200 kilometers northwest of Russian capital Moscow.
According to Rosenergoatom, the main objective of this course is to familiarize Iranian scientists with the methods and experiences of their Russian peers in the inspection of the technical equipment installed in nuclear power plants.
Mohsen Shirazi, a member of the Iranian delegation participating in the course, said Iranian scientists will use this valuable opportunity to learn necessary information about maintenance of power plants and have all their questions answered in both theory and practice by top engineers and experts at Kalinin nuclear power plant.
Kalinin nuclear power plant, which contains four electricity production units, each with a capacity of 1000 megawatts, is operated under Rosenergoatom, which currently operates 10 nuclear power plants with 33 reactors in Russia.
Iran and Russia signed in March 2015 an agreement under which Rosenergoatom is required to provide maintenance services to the Bushehr nuclear plant for a period of five years.
