Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Navy Rear Admiral Ali Fadavi, who was addressing a commemoration ceremony to mark the martyrdom of the top Hezbollah commander Mustafa Badreddine, emphasized the special status of Palestine in Iran’s foreign policy adding “the Zionist regime is not in a position to make threats against Iran.”
“Supporting Palestine began before the Islamic Revolution as defending the oppressed against arrogance is as one important indicator of the Revolution,” he continued.
The ceremony, which was held in Tehran on Tuesday, was attended by several top-ranked political and army officials including Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Hassan Firouzabadi, Commander of IRGC Aerospace Force Brig. Gen. Amir Ali Hajizadeh, Head of Center for Strategic Defense Research Brig. Gen. Ahmad Vahidi, Rear Admiral Ali Fadavi, former Iranian police commander Ismail Ahmadi Moghaddam, Commander of Iran's Police Brigadier General Hossein Ashtari among the others.
