The military drill codenamed ‘Beit-ul Moqaddas', was a scene where to test-fire among other weapons autopilot drone Siraf with range of 100km and high flight endurance. The drone is capable of online dispatching of images to command center and this is the first time it is unveiled by Artillery Defense Faculty of NEZAJA. On Sunday, Nazeat missiles and Fajr-5 rockets were test-fired in Maranjab desert General Zone of the Army near Kashan.
The drill also saw test-firing T-71 tanks, 106mm guns, BMP-2 Armored Personnel Carrier (APC), 23mm canons and Shaher 14.5mm anti-material sniper rifle.
Brig. Gen. Seyyed Masoud Reza Zavarei, head of the Army Ground Forces research and self-sufficiency body, told reporters on Monday morning before launching the drills that Pouria super-heavy tank carrier would be test-fired; “Felaq tank, automated and stabilized version of a former artillery, will be unveiled for the first time,” he added. “All test-fired weapons and warfare are made by Army Ground Forces Research and Self-Sufficiency body.”
In a related story, Commander of the Iranian Army's Ground Forces Brig. Gen. Ahmad-Reza Pourdastan told reporters on Monday that Zulfiqar and Tiam tanks and Felaq carrier tank had been in the repertoire of the NEZAJA Research and Self-Sufficiency body; “Shaher, Baher, and Taher sniper rifles have been optimized for the drill for surface defense and have performed excellently in difficult tests; all these weapons have demonstrated capabilities in surface battle and proxy combat; we have worked to refine them to meet the growing needs of the ground forces in defense,” he told reporters.
“The Islamic Republic of Iran Army enjoys high capabilities in defending country’s vast borders; we are capable of responding to any threat during asymmetrical battle or proxy war which would be overwhelming enough to force the enemy to regret embarking on the threat,” Pourdastan asserted.
