TEHRAN, May 10 (MNA) – Receiving Germany's Markus Ederer in Tehran, Iranian FM Zarif urged facilitation of trade and investment for the businessmen of both countries.

“Having in mind the growing political, economic, cultural, and parliamentarian negotiations between Tehran and Berlin, it is expected to have facilities for bolstering investment, and economic and trade transactions between Iran, and Germany,” said Dr. Mohammad Javad Zarif, the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran on Tuesday in his meeting with Markus Ederer, the State Secretary of the Federal Foreign Office of the FRG.

During the meeting, Iranian FM described Germany as one of the major regional and international players. He voiced content that the FRG holds more realistic view about the developments in the region and added that, "this kind of approach is an important element for being a cross-regional player who is after ending regional crises."

Ederer, for his part in the meeting, briefed Iranian officials on the views held by Berlin toward bilateral and regional issues.

Zarif was the second Iranian official who received the German diplomat in Tehran, after Ederer met with Ali Akbar Velayati, a senior adviser to Leader of the Islamic Revolution on international affairs, earlier on Tuesday.
