TEHRAN, Apr. 08 (MNA) – According to the statement issued at the end of the trilateral meeting of Zarif, Lavrov, and Mammadyarov in Baku, the three FMs agreed to arrange the trilateral meeting of Presidents of their countries. 

“Last month visit of the Turkish Prime Minister to Tehran and his meetings with President Rouhani and First VP Jahangiri opened a new chapter in the relations of Tehran and Ankara,” said Iranian Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Mahmoud Vaezi, in his meeting with the Turkish Prime Minister, Ahmet Davutoglu in Ankara on Thursday.

Mahmoud Vaezi, and officials accompanying him, who are currently in Ankara attending the 25th Joint Iran-Turkey Economic, Commercial and Cultural Commission slated for April 7-9, met with Turkish Prime Minister, Ahmet Davutoglu, Turkey’s Minister of Economy Mustafa Elitaş, and Turkish Foreign Minister, Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu in Ankara on Thursday.

Vaezi, who is the Iranian co-chairman of the commission, in his meeting with Turkish Prime Minister, Ahmet Davutoglu, listed the major areas of bilateral cooperation between the two countries in economic, industry, tourism, culture, and trade.

Implementing a new approach to have innovations, the economic relations between the two countries can be boosted and potential capacities can be taken advantage of, highlighted the Iranian minister.

During the same meeting with Davutoglu, Vaezi underlined the reciprocal importance of Iran and Turkey for each other and added that Iran can be the source of energy and other needs of Turkey, inviting the Turk investors to participate in Iranian projects.

The Turkish Prime Minister also for his part welcomed the plans offered by Vaezi and voiced the readiness of his country to cooperate with Iran in different areas especially tourism.

On the sidelines of the 25th Joint Iran-Turkey Economic, Commercial and Cultural Commission, Vaezi, accompanied by the ambassador of Islamic Republic of Iran to Ankara, met with Turkish Foreign Minister, Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu.

During the meeting, the Turk FM hailed the extent of bilateral cooperation between the two countries in areas of economy, and trade and voiced hope for development of friendly ties in bilateral, regional and international arenas.

Iran-Turkey relations are historical, and brotherly, Vaezi said to Çavuşoğlu in the meeting, calling for measures for deepening the political, economic, and cultural ties.

After meeting with Turkish ministers of development, Customs and Trade, and foreign affairs, the Iranian Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Mahmoud Vaezi met with Turkey’s Minister of Economy Mustafa Elitaş.

During the meeting the two officials discussed the barriers to developing trade between the two countries and the ways to ease bilateral trade.

We intend to do something in this round of the commission to not have the agreements just on paper and put them in practice, said Vaezi after reviewing all the economic and trade dimensions of the talks held in the joint commission of Iran and Turkey.

Vaezi valued the many commonalities shared by the two countries and described them as opportunity for developing and bolstering economic and trade ties.

Elitaş, for his part, referred to the number of the Islamic countries in the world and lamented that lack of cooperation between Islamic countries has led to weak trade volume of these countries.
