TEHRAN, Dec. 29 (MNA) – Iran’s deputy FM has warned that enemies are lurking around inside the region calling for prudence to thwart threats to the region.

Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab-African Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian met and talked with Chairman of Qatar National Human Rights Committee Ali Bin Samikh al-Marri on Tuesday.

Amir-Abdollahian referred to Iran's policy to promote ties with the Persian Gulf littoral states stressing the need for consistent dialogue with the aim of bolstering and reinvigorating bilateral ties.

The official further expressed grave concern about the current delicate situation in the region; “enemies are out to cause dangers for the people in the region who have been living peacefully together over the past centuries.”

“Iran insists on the strong relations with the neighboring countries on the basis of good neighborliness and taking up intelligent approaches considering the region's sensitive situation,” he said.

Chairman of Qatar National Human Rights Committee Ali Bin Samikh al-Marri, for his part, said Iran has significant status in the region and its numerous cultural, scientific and economic capacities must be put to use for economic collaboration.

He pointed out that Qatari delegation's visit to Tehran suggests Qatari government's determination to boost relations with Iran.

“Qatari Emir urges closer ties with the Islamic Republic of Iran since regional developments will exert effects on the destiny and fate of all people living in the Persian Gulf countries,” he concluded.
