TEHRAN, Sep. 28 (MNA) – Iran’s Foreign Minister has deemed Canada’s harsh and radical policies towards the international community as the cause of its isolation and said these policies have ruined this country’s reputation.

In a meeting with a group of Iranians residing in the US and Canada, Mohammad Javad Zarif stated that, “expansion of consular facilities and services to Iranians living in America and Canada is our top prority.”

“For the last two years, we have been trying to open offices to provide consular services to protect the interests of Iranians residing in Canada but the incumbent Canadian government has always prevented provision of these services,” Zarif added.

Iranian foreign minister further noted that, “there exists the possibility for the educated Iranians in Canada to react to unjustified persecution and anti-Iranian policies of Canada’s government.”

Zarif undelined that Iranians who have immigrated to other countries have formed the most educated and successful social groups in those countries and asserted that, “Iranian immigrants in other countries have always used their social and cultural rights to support moderate policies and movements.”
