TEHRAN, Jul. 15 (MNA) – Nima Javidi’s feature film ‘Melbourne’ will be screened at the 64th Melbourne International Film Festival (MIFF) in Australia.

The Melbourne International Film Festival (MIFF) is one of the world’s oldest film festivals, established in 1952 in the Australian city.

Nima Javidi’s feature film Melbourne will be screened in the 64th edition of the festival on August 13 and 15, 2015. Javidi, as the director and screenwriter, will be present during the screening.

The film recounts the story of a young couple on their way to Melbourne to continue their studies. However, just a few hours before their flight, they are unintentionally involved in a tragic event.

Melbourne has so far been screened at several international film festivals including 10th edition of Zurich international Film Festival, 27th Tokyo International Film Festival, as well as IndieLisboa and Belgium International Film Festivals.  

Javidi's debut film has bagged two awards at the Stockholm International Film Festival. Javidi also won Best Screenplay at the 8th Asia Pacific Screen Awards in Australia’s Brisbane on 11 December 2014.

The 64th Melbourne International Film Festival (MIFF) which consists of 370 films from 69 countries will be held in the Australian cultural capital from 30 July to 16 August, 2015.
