TEHRAN, Jun. 17 (MNA) – The short animation ‘Sohrab and Rustum’, by Australian director Lee Whitmore about mythic warriors in ancient Persia, has won the Yoram Gross Animation Award of 2019 Sydney Film Festival.

Nurgavan ritual ceremony in Amol
AMOL, Jul. 21 (MNA) – ‘Nurgavan’ is a ritual ceremony held every year in July in the mountainous village Nava in northern city of Amol. The ceremony is in honor of the victory of the mythical hero Fereydoun over the evil figure Zahhak, chosen by Ahriman as the tool for his plans for world domination.

Shajarian, Pournazeri's Shahnameh multimedia concert
TEHRAN, Aug. 10 (MNA) – Classical vocalist and tonbak player Homayoun Shajarian, and composer Sohrab Pournazeri, are currently staging a multimedia concert titled 'Si' based on Persian poet Ferdowsi's 'Shahnameh'. The stories performed include ‘Rostam and Esfandyar’, ‘Zal and Rudabeh' and 'Rostam and Sohrab'.
