Astara’s Estill Lagoon

ASTARA, Aug. 07 (MNA) – The 138-acre Estill Lagoon is one of Iran's tourist attractions located 7km from Astara, Gilan province. It embraces a variety of freshwater lakes, wetlands, and lagoons, many of which play host to migratory pelicans, flamingos, ducks, swans, coots among other species.

Estill Lagoon hosting buffalo flocks in sizzling summer

TEHRAN, Aug. 04 (MNA) – Estill Lagoon in the northern province of Gilan near the city of Astara is hosting a large flock of buffalos that are trying to seek refuge from the summer’s extreme heat. Astara's Estil Lagoon on verge of dryness

ASTARA, Jul. 08 (MNA) – Covering an area of some 128 hectares, Estil Lagoon is situated on the Southern side of Astara, Gilan province. The water level of the lagoon has significantly decreased during recent years due to inappropriate irrigation of rice fields.
