VIDEO: Rare mummified animals discovered in Egypt
TEHRAN, Nov. 24 (MNA) – Archaeologists announced on Saturday the discovery of dozens of ancient mummified animals at Saqqara necropolis, in Giza province, Egypt. The discovery includes a large collection of wooden and bronze cat statues, as well as what are believed to be two lion cubs, and several crocodiles and birds.

VIDEO: 4,400-year-old tomb discovered in Egypt
TEHRAN, Dec. 17 (MNA) – A more than 4,000-year-old private tomb containing "exceptionally well-preserved" drawings has been discovered south of Cairo, according to Egypt's Ministry of Antiquities. The tomb belonged to a royal purification priest known as Wahtye. Inscriptions suggested the priest had served during the reign of King Nefer-Ir-Ka-Re and was the king's supervisor and inspector of the holy boat.

Stolen Achaemenid bas-relief returned to Iran
TEHRAN, Sep. 05 (MNA) – Ambassador and Permanent Representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the United Nations Gholamali Khoshroo said a bas-relief of Achaemenid era, stolen from Iran at a point around 90 years ago, was finally found in New York and after the court ordered the piece to be returned to Iran, it was sent back to its homeland on Tuesday.

Gowhartappeh hill in northern Iran
