Handicraft Fairs to Come Into Sight in W. Azarbaijan

TEHRAN, June 14 (Mehr News Agency) -- Several handicraft fairs are to open in Mahabad and Urumieh, West Azarbaijan Province, said handicraft deputy head of the province.

Abolqassem Fattah added that the venues will open in tourist destinations such as Band Leisure Center in Urumieh and Sahoulan Cave in Mahabad.

He said the scheme will be in line with the support and promotion of regional handicrafts.

“Several stands are tol be set up inside parks to produce and sell the artworks,“ said Fattah, adding that such project will definitely help boost the industry by attracting tourists and holidaymakers. The handicrafts will include inlaid work, kilim, pottery, carpet, embroidery, mat-making, etc.
