The event is being cosponsored by UNESCO and the Niavaran Artistic Creations Foundation.
Several Iranian scholars, including Dr. Bani-Ardalan and Masud Golestan, are to review and discuss the significance of philosophy in the contemporary world.
In addition, the Persian translation of the Greek tragedy “Medea” is to be recited by Parizad Seif.
A book fair displaying books on the theme of philosophy published by Hekmat Publications is also being held at the Persian Gulf Hall of the Niavaran Artistic Creations Foundation, which is located on Pasdaran Avenue.
UNESCO Philosophy Day will also be celebrated for the third time at UNESCO House in Paris and in member states.
At UNESCO headquarters in Paris, philosophers from all over the world will gather for the event, which will include a variety of themes and activities such as round tables, conferences, a “philosophy café”, art events, and book exhibitions. The last events of the day will be a debate and a concert by jazz musicians Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter and Diane Reeves, accompanied by the Thelonious Monk Jazz Ambassadors.
UNESCO will also be holding events in more than seventy countries around the world in cooperation with national commissions for UNESCO, UNESCO regional offices, UNESCO chairs, universities, institutes, academies, and other partners.
