Iranian, Turkish musicians to perform duets in Tehran

TEHRAN, Aug. 22 (MNA) -- Iran’s Keyhan Kalhor will be giving duet performances with celebrated Turkish musician Erdal Erzincan at Tehran’s Vahdat Hall on September 11, 12 and 13.

Kamancheh virtuoso Kalhor and baglama virtuoso Erzincan, who released the joint album “The Wind”, have held concerts in different countries previously.


Guitarist Lily Afshar to give recitals in Tehran

TEHRAN -- The Arasbaran Cultural Center will be hosting guitar recitals by Lily Afshar on September 21, 23 and 24.

She will also be giving master classes at the Part Institute on September 16 and 17.

Lily Afshar is an Iranian who is head of guitar studies at the University of Memphis in Tennessee.


Spanish illustrator to hold workshops in Tehran

TEHRAN -- Spanish renowned children book illustrator Javier Zabala will be holding workshops in Tehran.

The workshop will be held on August 30 and 31 under the title of “The Fictional illustration” by the Iranian Association of Children’s Books Illustrators.


Algeria to host painting exhibit by Iranian artists

TEHRAN -- Paintings by three Iranian miniaturists will be showcased in Algiers in an exhibition opening during the third week of Ramadan, August 25 to September 1.

Persian paintings by Jalil Jokar, Mohammad Moradi and Farshad Rahmani, which are mainly on mystical and religious themes, will be going on display at the 10-day exhibit.
