Iran’s theater celebration honors actors

TEHRAN, April 29 (MNA) -- Iran’s Sixth Actors Celebration was held at Tehran’s City Theater Complex on Tuesday in which a number of stage stars were honored.

Actor Payam Dehkordi began the program and Hushmand Honarkar from the Actors Association of Iran’s Theater Forum recited the association’s statement.

 

Two candles were lit in the honor of late actors Mehdi Fat’hi and Parviz Fannizadeh and their names and memoirs were recalled.

 

The program continued by paying tribute to veteran stage actors Jamshid Mashayekhi, Parviz Purhosseini, and Saeid Khaksar. The awards were handed by outstanding actor Jafar Vali.

 

In the actress’s section, the first award went to Shabnam Moqaddami in the play “The Cuckoo of Shrine’s Pigeons,” the second to Pantea Bahram in “Mid-Night Dream of Autumn,” and the third to Marjan Qamari in “Fatherly Attitude.”

 

The first award of the actors went to Siamak Safari in “Fox Hunting,” the second to Amir Jafari in “Mid-Night Dream of Autumn,” and the third to Ali Sarabi in “Les Rustres.”

 

The special award went to Mostafa Abdollahi in “The Memoirs of Zarir.”

 

Several other actors playing in “Les Rustres,” “The Cuckoo of Shrine’s Pigeons,” and “Hassan and the Ghoul of Narrow Road behind the Mountain” were also honored at the ceremony.

 

The awards were handed to the winners by outstanding theatrical figures Golab Adineh, Gohar Kheirandish, Esmaeil Khalaj, Sadi Afshar, and Hadi Marzban.

 

The Actors Celebration is part of the week-long Theater Forum festival running from April 27 to May 4 in Tehran.
