Manila to host Iranian filmmaker’s retrospective

TEHRAN, Feb. 28 (MNA) -- Iran’s embassy in the Philippines will screen five films by Reza Mirkarimi during Iran’s film week in Manila starting March 2.

Mirkarimi will attend the event during which his films “Under the Moonlight”, “The Child and the Soldier”, “So Close, So Far”, “Here, A Shining Light”, and “So Simple” will go on screen.

 

 

L.A. festival to screen Iran’s “The Painting”

 

TEHRAN -- Alireza Talebzadeh’s short film “The Painting” will go on screen at the Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival which will be held from April 30 to May 7.

 

The film narrates the story of an old painter who wants to paint a new picture different from those he has done before.

 

 

Iran’s “Be Calm” to compete at Swiss festival

 

TEHRAN -- Ramtin Lavvafipur’s “Be Calm and Count to Seven” will compete at the Fribourg International Film Festival which will be held from March 14 to 21 in Switzerland.

 

The film, which narrates the story of a young man who is a member of a gang of youths who retrieve contraband from the sea, won the VPRO Tiger Award of the International Film Festival of Rotterdam 2009.
