The Ministry of Intelligence of Iran announced the discovery of a shipment of advanced communications equipment, the arrest of one spy, and eight separatist militants.
The seized shipment included 45 communications devices described as having espionage applications and produced by American-Zionist companies. The equipment was discovered and confiscated by the intelligence forces of the West Azarbaijan provincial intelligence department while entering Iran’s northwestern borders.
The report added that eight members of separatist groups were identified and arrested in West Azarbaijan Province. According to the statement, these separatist elements were sending the location of the Iranian armed forces' positions to the enemy.
It further said intelligence forces in the provincial intelligence department identified and arrested a proxy spy of the American-Zionist enemy in Piranshahr.
