Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said in a statement that any threat against Iran would be answered at the same level needed to establish deterrence.
According to Mehr News Agency, the statement said Iran would respond proportionately to any action affecting critical infrastructure.
The IRGC rejected claims that it intends to target desalination facilities in the region, saying such actions had not been carried out by Iranian forces.
It added that attacks on electricity infrastructure could disrupt essential civilian services including hospitals, emergency centers, water networks and desalination facilities.
The statement said that if Iranian power plants are attacked, Iran would retaliate by targeting electricity infrastructure belonging to the terrorist regime of Israel as well as regional power facilities supplying electricity to American bases, alongside economic, industrial and energy infrastructure involving American investment.
The IRGC also said previous attacks had affected hospitals, relief centers and schools in Iran, while stressing that Tehran had not responded in kind to those sectors.
It concluded that the United States would see Iran’s capabilities on the ground if such escalation occurs.
