In a post on his X account late on Monday, Pezeshkian stated, “Islamic Republic of Iran expects the international community to condemn the US-Israeli aggression launched against Iran and convince the aggressors to respect the internation law.
Referring to his recent phone call with French President Emmanuel Macron, he noted, “In talk with French president, I emphasized that Iran has not initiated the brutal war.”
Defending against aggression is a natural and and an inherent right that Iran knows it well, Pezeshkian underlined.
Elsewhere in his remarks, President Pezeshkian pointed to the role of US bases in the region, stressing, “The use of US bases in the region against Iran with the aim of disrupting our relations with neighboring countries should be halted.”
Peace and stability in the region are not realized with ignoring the US-Israeli aggression against Iran, he continued.
The Islamic Republic of Iran will not give in to the bullying powers, he said, and called on the international community to condemn the US-Israeli aggression against Iran and convince aggressors to respect to the international law.
He then pointed to the nature of the aggression launched against Iran, adding that initiating war against Iran has been taken after based on the incorrect and wrong information, aimed at taking over the country which is an act dating back to 21st century.
Talking about halting aggression is meaningless until it is ensured that aggressor does not attack the country again, he said, and emphasized the principled stance of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the face of aggression against the country.
