Iraq’s Counterterrorism Unit announced the arrest of six Takfiri terrorists during separate operations conducted in three provinces.
According to an official statement by the Counterterrorism Unit, the detainees were arrested in Baghdad, Kirkuk, and Nineveh, as part of ongoing efforts to combat extremist activity and ensure security across the country.
In 2017, Iraq declared victory over the ISIL terrorist group after three years of fighting with this group.
Despite the Iraqi declaration of victory over ISIL, remnants of ISIL terrorists are still active in some areas of Diyala, Kirkuk, Nineveh, Saladin, Anbar, and Baghdad provinces.
