Iraq stresses preventing Israel from violating its airspace

TEHRAN, Sep. 30 (MNA) – Iraq's National Security Advisor stressed that the country will take all necessary measures to prevent the repetition of the Israeli regime's aggression and violation of its airspace.

Iraqi National Security Advisor Qassem al-Araji met with visiting Brigadier General Majid Mirahmadi and his Iranian accompanying delegation in his office on Tuesday.

A statement issued by al-Araji's office said that during the meeting, they discussed regional security challenges and threats and other issues of common interest, as well as the two countries' measures to maintain joint security and stability based on the principle of good neighborliness, some of which are part of the security agreement signed between the two countries.

The two sides also exchanged views on necessary measures to maintain regional security and stability.

Al-Araji stressed in the meeting that Iraq's stance that rejects the use of its territory as a base for aggression against neighboring countries, including the Islamic Republic of Iran, is clear and consistent.

He said that Iraq has filed an official complaint with the Security Council against the Zionist Israeli regime for using its airspace to attack the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The top Iraqi security official finally reiterated that the Iraqi government and the Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces (Al-Sudani) will take all necessary measures to prevent the recurrence of the previous aggressions.
