Spain to join South Africa’s genocide case against Israel

TEHRAN, Jun. 06 (MNA) – Spanish Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Albares says his country will join South Africa’s genocide case before the International Court of Justice against Israel’s actions in Gaza.

Spain is the first European nation to join the case, which has also been joined by Chile and Mexico.

In mid-May, judges at the top United Nations court ordered the Israeli regime to halt its offensive in the southern Gaza city of Rafah and withdraw from the enclave, citing “immense risk” to the Palestinian population.

Israel has since pressed on with its assault on Rafah and the rest of the Gaza Strip.

Israel waged its brutal war on besieged Gaza on October 7 after Hamas carried out an unprecedented operation against the occupying entity in retaliation for its intensified atrocities against the Palestinian people.

Israel has imposed a complete siege on the densely populated territory, cutting off fuel, electricity, food, and water to the more than two million Palestinians living there.
