Iran to continue policy of de-escalating ties with neighbors

TEHRAN, May 23 (MNA) – The Islamic Republic of Iran's strategic policy of de-escalating relations with neighbors is an effective strategy for regional cooperation that will definitely continue, Iranian acting foreign minister َAli Bagheri Kani says.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who traveled Iran to attend the funeral of martyr president Raeisi and Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, met and held talks with Iranian acting foreign minister َAli Bagheri Kani.

Condoling the the martyrdom of Raeisi and Amir-Abdollahian to high-ranking officials, the government and the people of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Emirati foreign minister said that his trip to Iran in this difficult situation was aimed at expressing the depth of friendship and solidarity and emphasize the brotherly relations between the two countries and the nation.

Bagheri Kani also emphasized that empathy and companionship in difficult times is a valuable asset for cooperation to jointly enjoy opportunities and deal with threats and challenges that threaten the peace, stability and security of the region.

De-escalation of relations with neighbors is a definitive and strategic policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran and an effective strategy for regional cooperation that will definitely continue, he added.
