Iran considers Pakistan security as its own: FM

TEHRAN, Jan. 29 (MNA) – Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian says that Iran considers the security of Pakistan as the security of itself and the region.

Hossein Amir-Abdollahian made the remarks in joint a press conference with Pakistan's Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani.

He said that the two countries have offered many martyrs in the war against terrorism in recent years, adding that the terrorists on the borders of Iran and Pakistan are supported by third parties.

The foreign minister stressed that Iran and Pakistan will never allow terrorists to harm their relations and the security of their borders.

Earlier on Monday, the two foreign ministers held a bilateral meeting to discuss the relations between Tehran and Islamabad.

Amir-Abdullahian said that Iran and Pakistan will not allow terrorists to damage the relations and security of the two countries.

He added that "the terrorists on the shared borders between Iran and Pakistan are supported by third groups and they are never benevolent to our relations."

The Iranian foreign minister further stressed that, "We say loud and clear that Iran and Pakistan will never allow terrorists to damage our relations and the security of our borders."

"We have a shared belief to turn the borders between the two countries into religious and commercial borders," he added.

"The development of tourism and the finalization of agreements related to energy, which we will witness the exchange of delegations in this regard, were among the other axes of our talks," Amir-Abdollahian said..

H added that the Pakistani government has invited the Iranain President Ebrahim Raeiis for a visit to the neigbring country. ​

"The two countries have constructive cooperation with each other in international bodies. I thank the government and people of Pakistan for their strong support in supporting the oppressed people of Palestine. We believe that there is not difference between Shia and Sunni and all Muslims are united."
