Iran's foreign ministry summons Swedish Chargé d'affaires

TEHRAN, Dec. 20 (MNA) – The charge d'affaires of the Swedish embassy was summoned to Iran's foreign ministry following the measure by a Swedish court against Hamid Nouri, and the strong protest of the Islamic Republic of Iran was conveyed to him.

The Swedish diplomat was summoned by the Director General of the Western Europe Department of the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Wednesday.

In the meeting the Iranian diplomat strongly condemned the actions taken against this Iranian citizen former judicial official Hamid Nouri, saying, it is upsetting the Swedish counted on false claims made by individuals and groups that have committed the most heinous terrorist and anti-human acts against the people of Iran, namely the notorious group MKO.

He described the Swedish court with minimum standards of fair proceedings that has abused legal mechanisms.

The Director General of Western Europe Department added, "Swedish court has stepped in the wrong direction during the hearing of this fabricated and fake case, by filing false accusations, without meeting the terms of the judicial process."

He pointed out that following the goals and objectives of anti-Iranian terrorist and separatist groups and a group who have martyred more than 17,000 Iranians once again proved the double standards of the so-called human rights advocates.

The Iranian diplomat added, "The Islamic Republic of Iran is determined to continue pursuing the rights of its citizens until they are released and reserves its right to take appropriate steps.

The chargé d'affaires of the Swedish embassy stated in the meeting that he would convey the Iranian side's protest to his respective capital as soon as possible.
