IRGC dismantles terror cell in NW Iran, 11 terrorists killed

TEHRAN, Aug. 11 (MNA) –The IRGC announced on Saturday that it has managed to disband a terrorist group and kill 11 terrorists intending to enter Iran through Oshnaviyeh in northwestern Iran.

A terror cell trying to illegally enter Iran through Iranian northwestern borders was dismantled, according to a Saturday statement rolled out by Hamzeh Seyyedoshohada HQ of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in northwestern Iran.

“Last night, an equipped terror cell, affiliated to the global Arrogance and alien intelligence services, whose members were trying to infiltrate into the country through Oshnaviyeh border region to create insecurity and carry out sabotage operations, was ambushed by the brave and zealous warriors of the Hamzeh Seyyedoshohada HQ of the Ground Force of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and 11 terrorists were killed while a number of them were injured,” reads the statement.

According to the statement, a big deal of ammunition, weapons, arms and communication devices were seized by the IRGC in the operation.

An area located between Iran, Iraq and Turkey is used by terrorists to cause continuous irritation for Iranian border guards. The IRGC repetitively ambushed the terrorists intending to enter Iran through the northwestern borders of Iran.
