Saudi Arabia issues visa for Iranian diplomat

TEHRAN, Aug. 05 (MNA) – An informed source has told Iran’s state news agency IRNA that Saudi Arabia has agreed to issue visa for the newly-appointed head of Iran’s Interests Section in the KSA.

Saudi Arabia has agreed to issue visa for Iranian diplomat appointed to head the Interests Section of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Saudi Arabia.

Mohammad Alibak, who is currently serving as the head of Oman and Yemen office at Iranian foreign ministry, has been appointed to head the Interests Section of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Saudi Arabia.

Tehran-Riyadh diplomatic relations were cut off after a group attacked Saudi embassy in Tehran and consulate in Mashhad in early 2016.

Political commentators have described the move to issue visa for Iranian diplomat as a positive development in bilateral relations between Tehran and Riyadh.
