Iran, China poised to adopt joint strategy against US

TEHRAN, Apr. 26 (MNA) – Shamkhani, the Secretary of Iran’s SNSC, and Guo Shengkun, the Secretary of the Central Political and Legal Affairs Commission of the Communist Party of China, agreed that US is after inflicting damage on Iran, China, and Russia and the three should adopt joint strategies in response.

“We take the phenomenon of terrorism as a threat endangering international peace and security even now that terrorists have lost the geography of their presence in Iraq and Syria,” said Rear Admiral Ali Shamkhani, the Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) of Iran.

The Iranian security official made the remarks on Thursday morning while meeting with the Secretary of the Central Political and Legal Affairs Commission of the Communist Party of China Guo Shengkun on the sidelines of the 9th International Meeting of High Representatives for Security Issues in the Russian resort city of Sochi, which has brought together representatives from 119 countries.

“Joint endeavors to remove some of the existing hurdles on the path to joint cooperation, especially in the areas of banking and financial transactions, are atop the priorities to develop bilateral relations,” added Mr. Shamkhani.

“Being in the list of US national security threats is the common ground of Iran, Russia, and China which are at the same time suffering US sanctions, and this has made it inevitable to adopt a joint strategy to encounter US comprehensive measures against us,” said Mr. Shamkhani.

The Chinese official, in this meeting, for his part, said that he is in agreement with Mr. Shamkhani’s remarks at the conference and voiced serious concern over the spread of instability and insecurity in the region.

“In addition to approving your stances and approaches, we hold that US, as a country which is secretly supporting the elements of insecurity and instability in the region, is after limiting and inflicting damage on Iran, China, and Russia with levying sanctions,” said Mr. Guo Shengkun.
