Zarif discusses bilateral issues with Azeri counterpart

TEHRAN, Dec. 20 (MNA) – Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad met with his Azeri counterpart Elmar Mammadyarov on Wednesday.

The two sides discussed issues of mutual interest and the likely ways to expand cooperation between the two countries. 

The two sides discussed the expansion of cooperation in the economic field, including in railways, as well as in the energy sector in the Caspian Sea.

They also discussed the US president's recent move to relocate al-Quds as the Zionist regime's capital.

Zarif has left Tehran for Baku on Tuesday to attend trilateral meeting of Foreign Ministers of Azerbaijan, Iran and Turkey, slated for Wednesday.

The mechanism of Trilateral Meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Turkey, Azerbaijan and Iran enables to exchange views on regional issues in a trilateral format; contributes to enhancement of cooperation on the basis of common interests and consolidation of regional prosperity, stability and security.
