Choir of Tehran Symphony Orchestra performs in Rome

TEHRAN, Dec. 04 (MNA) – The choir of Tehran Symphony Orchestra and World Youth Orchestra appeared on stage at Santa Maria church, Rome.

In the joint performance delivered by Tehran Symphony Orchestra choir the oratorio composed by Iranian artist Hooshang Kamkar was played followed by warm reception from the Italian audiences.

The music director of Tehran Symphony Orchestra Shardad Rohani, Iranian ambassador to Italy Jahanbakhsh Mozaffari and choir conductor Razmik Ohanian attended this event.

The Orchestra played ‘Concerto for Two Violins’ by Johann Sebastian Bach followed by ‘Gloria’ by Antonio Vivaldi.

‘Rain Drops’ and ‘Persian Garden’ by Shahrdad Rohani and ‘God Ship Martyrs’ by Hooshang Kamkar were among other pieces played.

This event occurred as the result of a memorandum of cooperation signed Roudaki Foundation, Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance, Tehran University of Art, Sapienza University of Rome and Italian Youth Orchestra by Iran and Italy.

The group will deliver its next performance in Vahdat Hall (Iranian performing arts complex) on December 7, 2017.
