Iran, Turkey sign economic MoU

TEHRAN, Nov. 27 (MNA) – A memorandum of understanding and cooperation agreement were signed between Iran and Turkey in a meeting of Joint Economic Commission.

Iran’s Ministry of Industry, Mines and Trade announced on Sunday that a memorandum of understanding and a cooperation agreement were signed at the end of the 26th meeting of Iran-Turkey Joint Economic Commission between Iranian minister Mohammad Shariatmadari and Turkish Minister of Economy Nihat Zeybekci.

The two ministers also inked a cooperation agreement in the field of technical-engineering. They  agreed to cooperate on transferring technical-engineering services and help their trade in this sector reach $10 billion a year.

The 26th summit took place at the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran in Tehran between Nov. 26-27, 2017.

Transit facilitation was one of the most important issues discussed at the meeting. The memorandum signed between the two sides is entitled “transportation and transit facilitation.” This agreement will pave the way for more economic and trade relations between Iran and Turkey.
