Boroujerdi arrives in Damascus for bilateral meetings

TEHRAN, Oct. 04 (MNA) – Head of the Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Alaeddin Boroujerdi traveled to Damascus at the head of a delegation on Tuesday.

Accompanied by Javad Karimi Ghodoosi, Abbas Nanva Kenari, and Yonathan Betkolia, Boroujerdi arrived in Syrian capital on Tuesday and was welcomed by his counterpart and Syrian officials.

Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, based on the framework of its legal duties, has made the trip to Syrian capital aiming to convey congratulatory message of Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani to the new Speaker of the Syria’s People's Assembly Hammoudeh al-Sabbagh and to meet with his high-ranking officials, Boroujerdi said.

Negotiations on the latest developments in Syria and the region are among the objectives of the trip.
