‘The Servant’ scoops FRESCO’s Best Animation certificate

TEHRAN, Sep. 02 (MNA) – Iranian short animated piece ‘The Servant’ directed by Farnoush Abedi has received Best Animation Film certificate of the 4th FRESCO International Festival of Modern Art and Spiritual Films in Armenia.

‘The Servant’, which has recently won Best Animation Award at 40th Elche International Independent Film Festival in Spain, narrates the familiar story of a master and his servant, the story of a writer’s encounter with a gigantic insect: a cockroach.

‘The Servant’ and another short film ‘Senses’ by Nahal Dashti represented the Iranian cinema at the FRESCO film festival. ‘The Servant’ managed to receive the festival’s certificate for the Best Animation Film.

Other notable awards won by Abedi’s animated production include Best short animation award for February at London Independent Film Festival, second Best Animation Award at the 20th San Francisco Black Film Festival (SFBFF), and Best Short Animation award at the 2017 Silver Scream Festival in California, US.

According to the festival’s website, FRESCO aims to present international spiritual works and cultural pieces combined with the organization of free and healthy social discussions concerning the issues raised by them

The 4th edition of FRESCO film festival was held on 26-31 August 2017 in Yerevan, Armenia.
