Iran, Russia, Iraq discuss developments in region

TEHRAN, Aug. 03 (MNA) – Deputy FM Hossein Jaberi Ansari held talks with his Russian and Iraqi counterparts in Moscow on latest developments in the region.

Jaberi Ansari, who is in Moscow for consultations on developments in Middle East as well Astana process, held meeting with Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov and Iraq’s Nazar Khairullah on Wednesday evening.

The trilateral meeting was dedicated to the process of combating terrorism in Iraq and Syria and other developments in region. The parties underlined territorial integrity, fight against terrorism, political solution and Syrian nation’s right to decide its future as their common stands.

Iranian diplomat also had a meeting with Russian Deputy Defense Minister Alexander Fomin within the frame of consultations with Astana talks guarantor states.

The latest developments in Syria, de-escalation zones and the related documents currently discussed by Iran, Russia and Turkey as guarantor states to the ceasefire and next Astana meeting were the topics the officials exchanged views about in Moscow.

In a separate meeting Jaberi Ansari conferred with Qadri Jamil, the representative of The Moscow group of Syria’s opposition, on Geneva talks and trilateral coalition of Syrian oppositions, emphasizing on the need to preserve Syria’s territorial integrity and countering any disintegrating measure.
