"The airstrike took place on Mano locality of Chaparhar province roughly at 2:00 p.m. local time Sunday and one vehicle was also destroyed by the raid," it said in a statement.
The mountainous province with Jalalabad city as its capital, 120 km east of Kabul, has been the scene of clashes between security forces and ISIL militants since the emergence of ISIL there in early 2015.
On April 13, the US forces in Afghanistan struck an ISIL cave complex using the largest non-nuclear bomb in the neighboring mountainous Achin district, killing nearly 100 ISIL fighters and destroying a militant hideout together with several bunkers and tunnels.
The militant group has yet to make comment.
