Iran learns rivals at FIFA U-20 World Cup

TEHRAN, Mar. 15 (MNA) – National Iranian junior football team has been seeded against Portugal, Zambia and Costa Rica for the FIFA U-20 World Cup Korea Republic 2017.

The Official Draw for the FIFA U-20 World Cup Korea Republic 2017 has taken place at the Suwon Artrium in Suwon, South Korea, mapping out the group-stage challenge for each of the 24 teams involved. Two Argentine players who have won the FIFA U-20 World Cup, Diego Maradona and Pablo Aimar, participated participate in the draw.

Accordingly, Iranian footballers were drawn against national teams of Portugal, Zambia and Costa Rica in Group 3.

The ceremony was attended by representatives of 24 countries while the 24 qualified teams are allocated to four pots of six teams each, based on a ranking built according to past sporting performance

The 2017 FIFA U-20 World Cup, which will be played between 20 May and 11 June 2017 in South Korea. The 2017 FIFA U-20 World Cup will be the 21st edition of the sportive extravaganza.

Group A: Korea Republic, Guinea, Argentina, England

Group B: Venezuela, Germany, Vanuatu, Mexico

Group C: Zambia, Portugal, Iran, Costa Rica

Group E: France, Honduras, Vietnam, New Zealand

Group F: Ecuador, USA, Saudi Arabia, Senegal
