Iran to catch Qatar in shared field oil, gas production

TEHRAN, Mar. 04 (MNA) – First VP has told press in southeastern province of Kohgiluyeh and Boyerahmad 12 petrochemical complexes will go operative in 2017.

First Vice President Ishaq Jahangiri was visiting the province on Saturday and attended the provincial administrative session in Yasouj, the center of the province.

He said Qatar had been producing oil and gas twice as much as Iran had in 2013; “however, in the second quarter of 2017, Iran will catch the country in producing oil and gas from giant field South Pars; this will be possible by technological innovations and investments made into different phases of the project,” he told the press.
