Iran’s Director General of Political Affairs and International Security at Foreign Ministry, Gholamhossein Dehghani, held talks with Mikhail Ulyanov, Director of Department for Nonproliferation and Arms Control at Russian Federation’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in Moscow on Monday.
The Russian side was quoted by local media to have discussed with the Iranian official a wide range of topics of mutual interest.
According to the report, the two sides highlighted that the expansion of the US capabilities for global missile operations without any regard for security interests of other countries is completely unacceptable.
The Russian diplomat stressed that Tehran and Moscow share common positions and views on how to resolve the key international security issues.
“International issues must be resolved in an atmosphere of mutual respect based on national interests of all nations through constructive dialogues and without imposing other countries’ prescriptions on the rest of the world,” Ulyanov said.
The United States has announced its plans for stepping up its missile capabilities in various parts of the world along with the modernization and strengthening of its nuclear arsenal.
