So far, 370 artists from 44 countries including China, Russia, Ukraine, Brazil, Turkey, and Serbia have participated in the contest and 320 animated films have been submitted to the Secretariat.
This year, the festival will be held at a higher level with an aim to promote and deepen culture, research, technology and innovation. An exhibition will also be organized on the sideline of the festival.
The theme of the contest is “Challenges and Opportunities of Research, Technology and Innovation”.
An exhibition showcasing the winning works and the closing ceremony for the contest will be held simultaneously with the first international short animation and film festival on January 1, 2017, at Andisheh Cultural Center, Tehran. A number of senior Iranian officials will also attend the ceremony.
