Iranian officials condemn terrorist attack on Karbala pilgrims

TEHRAN, Nov. 25 (MNA) – Some Iranian high-ranking officials on Friday deplored deaths caused by terrorist blast in Iraq killing and injuring up to 100 people.

Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani, Head of Parliament National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Alaeddin Boroujerdi and First Vice President Es'hagh Jahangiri condemned the terrorist attack in Hilla city of Iraq.

Larijani urged the Foreign Ministry and national relief aid agencies to help deliver medical services to the injured people.

He noted Tehran would continue cooperation with Baghdad in fight against terrorism and extremism..

Boroujerdi also underlined that the incident will undoubtedly make Iran and Iraq more determined and serious in their fight against terrorists.

Jahangiri said that the terrorists are engaged in brutal and barbaric acts due to frustration and helplessness, adding such inhuman acts strengthens the Islamic Republic of Iran's determination to support the Iraqi people and government in the war against terrorism.
