FM Zarif, Hungarian Parl. Speaker Kövér met

TEHRAN, Nov. 13 (MNA) – Speaker of the National Assembly of Hungary who is in Tehran met with FM Zarif on Sunday.

László Kövér who had earlier met with other high-ranking officials including President Rouhani, on Saturday, met with FM Zarif where Iranian foreign minister dubbed Hungary’s balanced policy in region and world significant; pointing to visit of Kövér and his entourage comprising a great economic delegation, Zarif highlighted many views that Iran and Hungary shared and deemed the visit as indicator of improvement of bilateral ties.

“In Hungarian PM’s visit to Iran, good agreements were reached and we hope implementation of them can boost relations of the two countries,” he added.

Referring to various potentials for cooperation from political to economic, scientific and technological and to parliamentarian relations, FM said “in order to make cooperation more efficient, facilities particularly in terms of banking transactions and visa issuance are needed over which we should confer.”

“There is a good background of scientific and educational cooperation and student exchange between Iran and Hungary and we can also improve education of Persian language more than before,” Zarif added.

Pointing to the current situation in the region and world, he emphasized on the role of EU and stressed on Iran’s willingness to increase its cooperation with the European Union. “The EU can play a more active role in regional and international issues and needs to have initiatives as the policy of waiting to see what comes next will not work anymore.”

Speaker of the National Assembly of Hungary László Kövér, for his part, invited Mohammad Javad Zarif to visit Budapest and described his meetings with Iranian authorities as fruitful in which “I achieved all my objectives.”

“We see Iran as a strategic partner and welcome deepening and development of relations with this great country,” Kövér said.

Touching upon the nuclear deal he said, “we are very happy with the deal Iran and 5+1 Reached and congratulate you for the great achievements you have made; we consider it in favor of anyone and believe that nothing could hinder its implementation and as the Islamic Republic has fulfilled all its commitments, the other parties must be committed too.”
