Iran, Benin call for stronger mutual ties

TEHRAN, Oct. 16 (MNA) – Minister of State for Planning and Development of Benin Abdoulaye Bio Tchane met Iran’s FM Zarif today morning in Tehran calling for expansion of bilateral cooperation.

The visiting Beninese official, who is staying in Tehran as the special envoy of the president of the West African country Patrice Talon, met and talked with the Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif on Sunday morning.

During the meeting, both sides emphasized the need for reinvigoration of mutual relations between the two countries in political, economic, educational, agricultural and banking areas.

The two officials also discussed venues for cooperation and exchange of views in the field of combating terrorism and extremism as well as strengthening of collaborations in international forums.

At the end of the session, the written message of Beninese president to his Iranian counterpart was delivered to Mohammad Javad Zarif.
