The fourth gold medalist of the Iranian delegation was Gholamreza Rahimi who won the title of Men's Individual Recurve – Open in Sambodromo venue of Rio de Janeiro.
Rahimi had to defeat Hanreuchai Netsiri of Thailand in the final showdown while he had previously overcome Latvian and British archers on road to the finals. Earlier on Tuesday, Rahimi’s compatriot Ebrahim Ranjbar had bagged the bronze medal of the same category.
Competing in Men's 1500m - T20 Final, Iran’s Peyman Nasiri clocked 3:56.24 minutes in order to stand on the third podium while he had clinched a gold medal in 2012 London Paralympics with a record of 3:58.49 minutes.
Michael Brannigan of the US and Poland’s Daniel Pek finished in 3:51.73 and 3:56.17 minutes to win gold and silver medals on 1500m sprint.
So far with a total of 11 medals, including 4 golds, the Iranian outfit entitled ‘Mina Delegation’ has occupied the 17th spot in the overall standings.
